Integration strategy for information resources
(starting from a legacy perspective)

Information Dynamics

Three steps

Step 1
Knitbase coordinates updates. What should be essentially similar information in different databases, also remains similar. Replication as a strictly controlled form of duplication. From disintegration to integration.

Step 2
Knitbase optimizes separate databases into a tightly coordinated configuration. Every database gradually develops toward characteristic information, only. Unambiguous contexts are added, based on realistically balanced standardization/differentiation. Note! Integrated context is the missing dimension in so-called enterprise application integration; over-relying on standardization, such attempts already fail at coordinated updating (see step 1, above).

Step 3
Knitbase adds temporal variety of both information and definitions/structure. From myopia to operational time series (past, present and future).
